Holding Faith: Finding the Way of Hope in the Cerulean Sea

This one is a bit different--a free online book club for a secular book, but with spiritual themes, making it appropriate to invite friends outside the faith to join our discussion.

Finding the Gospel in the Cerulean Sea

Monday nights via zoom from 7 - 8 pm PT
January 19 - February 16, 2026

A free online book club from Holding Faith in partnership with Claremont Presbyterian.

In the last year, our world has seemed to turn upside down. In such times, we hope to respond with grace, but more often than not, fear can get the best of us. Nothing feels safe anymore. The House in the Cerulean Sea, by TJ Klune, is a story about creating a home—a safe space to nurture new life. A best-selling story of inclusion and belonging, of hope and of joy in the midst of darkness.

Whether you have strong faith, shaky faith, or no faith, join us to explore this powerful book that faces the cruelty of the world with beauty, kindness, inclusion and love. The book is a secular one with powerful themes, making this a great opportunity to invite friends of strong faith, shaky faith, or no faith to be a part of our discussion.
